Make Martinez accountable

WITH all the attention the Azkals are getting, questions are, inevitably, being asked on how the Philippine Football Federation is being run.

Mari Martinez, who's conjuring fairy tale after fairy tale, including one where he claims the recruiting of Fil-Foreigners was his idea (sorry, I couldn't find the link), will have to answer a lot of questions.

Mari wants to hold on the PFF presidency for 90 days more but someone told me that he's doing that because the next Fifa aid--some P10 million--will be released.

I'm never a fan of senate inquiries, but what the heck, if it's the right venue where we can fry Mari (and of course, in the spirit of fair play, he can defend himself if he can). Then so be it.

Let Mari be held accountable for the Fifa funds--$250,000 and $200,000--this year alone. And also for the AFC and AFF doleouts. That's for 2010. He's been in office for three years.

Mari, like I said in a blog.
May
Araw
Rin
Ikaw.
And the time is now.

Mike,

Isn't government intervention on a Federations affairs against FIFA statutes? Wont a senate inquiry only do more in damage to PFF, if it results in PFF getting banned by FIFA.

In 90 days, Mari will get fried. All the books will be opened, and certainly, i think, criminal cases can be filed. And hopefully, Mari will be held accountable, for the damage he's to Philippine football.

Oh and on a side note, "May Araw Rin Ikaw" sounds a bit awkward.. i think its supposed to be "May Araw Ka Rin" hahaha I'd rather say "Mari, your shit is about to hit the fan. And damn will it smell"

It's awkward but I was going for a play on his initials. Hehehe.
I'm not sure with that if Fifa will see it as government intervention. That's what crossed my mind too.
Damn, I just wish Mari will go out quietly

an Indonesian here. Oh boy, evidently the PSSI (our football federation) and the PFF are facing the same problem: a corrupt leader. Our infamous Nurdin Halid has served time for smuggling, although he managed to evade several corruption charges. Our league is in an almost total disarray because of his corrupt way of managing things. Most Indonesian fans wish him an ugly and painful end. Based on your article, I hope both Halid and Martinez will rot in hell.

BTW, I tip my hat for your Azkals performance. If Malaysia gets over Vietnam, I would call INA vs. PHI the real final of this AFF Cup. Boo to the AFF if you have to go through qualifications again on the next AFF Cup. Welcome to the big boys club, many of them shudder at the sight of you now hahaha. Best of luck on the next leg. May the best team win.

And here was I hoping, Martinez would love Indonesia so much that he'd ask to be adopted by the PSSI. AS head of the Committee for Incredible Liars perhaps? But, having experienced Martinez, I wouldn't wish him on anyone else.

Thanks for the compliment. Marcus is one tough keeper to score against as Phil Younghusband learned, three times. That chip, with his back against the goal and the keeper out of the line, had it gone in, would hvae been the goal of the tournament (pardon my bias) too bad though a defender beat him.
