Fegidero's death and Cebu football update
DAVE Fegidero, the brother of Norman and Joshua, the former USC coach and Crazy Horse striker is dead.
The photo below shows (from left) Norman, the hero of RP's 1-0 win over Malaysia in the 1991 Sea Games, with brothers Joshua and Dave, who was supposed to play for the Philippines in futsal for this year's Seag. The final man on the picture is their cousin Troy, a one-time USC import in the Aboitiz Cup. All four played for the Philippines in the 2000 edition of the Tiger Cup. As to the update in Cebu football.
There is none.
Except for Manfred Schuwerk's Denker Cebu Football League, there is nothing much happening in football in Cebu. It's already October, yet the Aboitiz Cup hasn't started yet. In previous years, the Aboitiz Football Fiesta--held to launch the Aboitiz Cup--was staged in September.
Nothing so far.
With the way things are going, the next big tournament Cebu would be the Cebu City Olympics and Cesafi, both kicks off this November.
Will the Aboitiz Cup open shop before that? Your guess is as good as mine.
