Booth, Yngayo make RP U13 team

from Sun.Star Cebu

TWO Cebu-based players were named to the national Youth Under13 Team after wowing coaches in the Center for Football Excellence try out last month held here in Cebu.

Thomas Louis Booth and Rogelio Yngayo will play for the RP team during the Asian Football Confederation Under13 Festival of Football 2007, which will held on June 5-9 in Saba, Malaysia.

Yngayo and Booth,  got the attention of the coaches during the tryouts held at the SVD Fields last month. Aside from the Cebuano players, booters from Bacolod and Iloilo joined the trials.

“Booth topped the other hopefuls in terms of speed and endurance,” said Cebu Football Associaton (CebuFA) Secretary General Sherwin Rodriguez.

The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) faxed the official list of members of the RP team last May 4 to the CebuFA office.

Booth is the midfielder and defender of the Cebu International School football team, while Yngayo is the diminutive striker from Pepito Football Club.

“Yngayo is small but terrible. He is very quick and skillful,” Rodriguez added.

The two players will be undergoing training with the rest of the team until June 3 with RP coach John Carmona and a Korean coach tapped to help train the RP squad. The players will be provided with transportation, meals and accommodation by the PFF.

The two are the latest Cebuanos to join the RP pool. Last year, Kevin Tecson and Joshua Cruz made the team and CebuFA president Jonathan Maximo was named the head of delegation.

In 2005, Evanjames Mendoza also made the cut for the AFC Under 13 Festival. Aside from the three, the other Cebuanos who made it to the national teams are Oliver Colina, who was named to the Under-23 training pool and Michael Sharpe, who played for the Philippines in the Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy Under-21 competition last April. Segurado unta silang madala. 4 unta ang representative sa Cebu. Sayang!

deleted that part roberto, i think its another Booth. To: Budoy, what I heard was Caindec was part of the team, was surprised to learn his name was not in the pool.

Mr. Limpag,

Surprising kaayo kay bisag asa ato nilang duha klaro kaayo nga masulod. Wa gyod mahunahuna sa people concerned nga oppurtunity lost gyod to nilang Caindec ug Noel. National team gibaylo lang og Palaro.

Pag-una sige ta og reklamo kay wa ta pahibaw-a nga dunay try-ot. Karon nga nakahibawo na ta. Unsay ikasulti nimo Ronaldo? Unsa sad ikasulti nimo Coach Bono?

JONATHAM MAXIMO gets DELEGATION-HEAD for PFF, so it is clear corrupt PFF will get cebuFA on his side

To budoy: Though I am not sure whether the two boys attended the tryout, what I know is that the coach already saw and knew how good one of the two players were.

To Paul Weiler: That old horse is all beat up already, can't you get a new slogan or something? With something concrete?

Our boys didn't attend the try-outs bec. they were prevented by coach Bono for the reason that they might get injured while preparing for the Palaro. I was thinking how come Martin of Springdale was able to join the try-outs although he was bound for palaro also. Im really sorry for those two boys.
