bai mike, can you possibly ask for the dimensions of the pitches the san roque festival organizers will use and which brackets will be using which ? i'm doing a study on what size the playing pitch for 5 or 7 a side competitions should ideally be.

i already have the pitch sizes used during the CIS, Thirsty, GTZ and Aboitiz Festivals. Thirsty and Aboitiz varies every year. more or less, the CIS pitches are the only consistent size.

my intention is to present an ideal minimum size for pitches for the different age groups. i'm hoping we can use it as a tool for standardizing our festivals.

thanks.

thanks. i've just gotten hold of the latest version of the Ajax Football Program for Intermediate players and included are the minimum standards for pitch sizes for various age groups. the significant thing about the info is that the pitch sizes for each bracket vary depending on the format being used - with goalie or none, 5 or 7 a side, 8, 10, 12 or 15 minutes per half, tournament or festival, etc.

our pitch sizes in our festivals are dependent on the number of brackets and number of games that must be played. i'm pretty sure that game quality is not a big factor. by coming up with standard pitch sizes that could insure an ideal playing area that allows quality football to be played is my intention.
