do you know that beer (preferably Sam Mig Lights) mixed with baby powder is a good paste to apply on sun-burned skin that has begun to peel ?
Anonymous said…
good tip. ill try that next time. hehe

Ahhh.... u make me jealous Mike.... I miss Red Horse very much.... people used to call me Red Horse.... especially Warloo of San Jose.... hehhehehe.... now my new buddy is Buddy Bud... "Budweiser" ... its not as strong as Red horse though...
Anonymous said…
mikeH, just make sure you put the paste on the sunburned areas and not drink it.

riscoh, warloo still drinks like a horse but Emperador Brandy is now his poison of choice. i think he is still working at Marlboro (or is that Philip Morris) in the sales division.

Wow.... Warloo wasnt like that before... btw Ronaldo do you know Andre Lopez... from San Jose also.....
Anonymous said…
i know the faces but not the names, sorry. warloo was MVP with DB Alumni when they won the San Roque Festival. Many USJR veterans and Alumni tend to play with DB Alumni because USJR Varsity have many Bosconian friends (many are also Bosconians themselves).
Anonymous said…
no worries, ronaldo. i wont drink it. im more of vodka guy. hehehe

bay riscoh san jose players loves redhorse...thats our power...hehehe

and thats why the players once in our time is so bonded..redhorse,its every body's milk..

heheheh
Anonymous said…
Yah... true, team work should not only be when guys are playing, should be anywhere...

MikeH, You should try this drink when you get back to Pinas... Red Horse, Gilbey's Gin and Tanduay 5 years mix em up... We used to call this gasoline coz it looks like gasoline after you mixed everything together...

And if your adventurous, try TAMBLING "Tanduay 5yrs mixed with Red Horse" ... this is different coz you dont mix em in a glass or pitcher... you mix em up inside you stomach... hehheeeee.... ask Kenneth Tabares for info... his the co-inventor... Totot knows him...

Just kidding.... didnt want you to do this... you have plenty of money... these we're the drinks we prefer back then coz we're still in school and dont have enough money for booze...
Anonymous said…
yeah riscoh is right and when we are still in school and dont have money just to bond and go together anywhere we drionk the cheapest price alcohol,hehehe.. kenneth tabares ang labing "sigbin sa tanan manginumay" hehehe...

thats cool gasoline and tambling...

anywhere team work should be there..

riscoh, hehe i actually drink tanduay and gin also. but mixing them up together with red horse? hmm sounds like i could die from that. hehehehe

in my college days, it was either the VIRGIN (beer and Ginebra), the PEGASUS (red horse and gold eagle beer), the SENORITA (Tanduay and Beer) or straight up Shoktong.

pulutan was the round flour chicharon.

back in college also, err, i mean the middle part of my college career, we had this concotion, called Boracay, which had as its ingredients tanduay, nescafe, beer (?), i've forgotten.

I also remember that at one time, when 10 of us rented an apartment, just across a girls dorm, (yummy) Everybody was referring to our place as the "love house" not because of that, but because we always play reggae music when we drink.

One time, while I was having breakfast at a nearby carenderia with a few neighbors (at that time, i still manage to wake up before 8) two of my mates were lugging a case of beer to our place.

The people in the carenderia could only say, "Matay, pamahaw, paniudto, panihapun, beer man.
(for MikeH, rough translation, they have beer for breakfast, lunch and dinner)

How about we guys, Ronaldo, totot, riscoh and MikeH, gather for a round of beer, eh? Let's talk football, maybe not on policies for a positive atmospher.

First round on me

Sounds cool.... but I wont be back till 2008 I guess...

Nescafe and beer ? should try that sometime.

in a recent USC-TC reunion, i was amused to know that Manangs was still open for business. that is were every serious drinker go. showing up at classes in TC smelling like chicos was everybody's way of announcing you have balls.

the drafting tables at the 4th floor was a makeshift bar, especially the ones where the tops can be opened. Andy Player Junior and Ginebra were the poison of choice because the bottles can easily be brought inside the campus.

in the late nineties and up to now, i get invited to down several bottles of beer at the back of USJR-Basak behind the gym every wednesday. football talk is the rule, but the conversation oftentimes stray to politics - the cebufootball kind.

when my schedule allows it, me and my band play at Kahayag were the owner offers free red horse as payment. heck, after the first bottle, we usually end up paying for several more - each. thats why the music always sounds better (to us anyway) after the third bottle. too bad management is not keen to showing football games there.

mike, i'll take you up on that offer one of these days. i'm establishing a bar in lahug (i'm still trying to convince my partners to allow the showing of football games but we have a problem with SkyCable if we do). first round on you - i'll give everybody discounts on the rest.
Anonymous said…
apil ko sa discount ha?and murag kaila lage jud ko nimu ronaldo,hehehe..

mahubug man ta ngari sa atuang gipangstryahan oi,napa jud usa tikila ug redhorse isagul...slam slam bah..heheh

lami pud kaayu daghan nanghilak aning timplaha..

mas lami

another college-days drink was the DEPTH-CHARGE. one glass of beer and one shot of whiskey. you drop the whiskey glass inside the beer glass and drink it all in one gulp. don't mix or stir it up. after three of these, it is guaranteed that you are not going home standing-up.

also, try the BULL-SHOT. this is 1 bottle red bull (never use lipovitan), 1 shot whiskey, and 1 shot vodka or gin. have 4 of these after a football game and you will be ready to play another match - one week later.

i remember getting my team into trouble during the annual USC-TC inter-course (that was the title then) games. we loaded our cooler with rum-punch instead of juice or water. Richard Montayre (he was still a varsity player then) was refereeing. Mike, do you still remember "Charles Bronson" the one who checked the attendance of the teachers. well, he smelled our "juice" and immediately confiscated it and threatened to report us to the SAO. it was so unfair because the other team had beer inside their water jugs.
Anonymous said…
yep,
i remember the legendary charles
Anonymous said…
yeah, im up for a drink or many. hehe
Anonymous said…
I know him too... "Charles Bronson", as I was a carolinian then.... but I decided to transfer to San Jose coz I always end up at Manangs ... and in San Jose same thing happend we hang-out at carbon market.... I just cant resist Red Horse.... greatest invention ever....

Does anybody know JoPac's, tagaty-mate nako sa TC... palahubog sad kayong dako ... cge lang mi tagay kadahuman practise....
