Thrilla in December

This weekend promises to be a slam bang affair as the Aboitiz 15 Under and the Men's League comes to a close with thrilling matches at the San Roque Parish football field.

In Saturday, Don Bosco College and Blessed John XIII seminary try to salvage some pride when they face off with each other in the U15 battle for third, before Hiroshi takes on Paref-Springdale in the titular show down.

Early in the elimination, BJS squeaked past DBC, 1-0, while Springdale also scored the same win over Hiroshi.

Sunday also offers a marquee match up as Hiroshi FC tangles with Crazy Horse FC in the men's league -- with the champion getting to represent Cebu in the regional men's open next year.

Both Hiroshi and Crazy Horse are tied on top with 15 points on five wins and a +29 goal difference.

Question now is, what happens if the teams draw?

If its a draw at full time, what will then happen? Its a cup right? They could play extra time, just like in other cups/tournaments, and if still no score, then penalty shootout is the next thing. A rematch could also be possible, but its better with extra time and penalties, just so they can end it and have a winner. That will give the winning team more time to prepare for the regionals.

MikeH,the format of the men's division for this year is league-type with 2 divisions. championshions will be determined thru the point system (3 for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for losses).after the single round robin (although everybody here thinks it should have been double round robin), the team with the highest oint total is declared champions (patterned after La Liga, English Premier League, and Bundesliga).the last two teams of division 1 gets demoted to division 2 while the top 2 teams of division 2 gets promoted to division 1 next season.

According to league type rules (got this from EPL guide) if two or more teams end up having equal points, the tiebreaker will first be goal difference, goals scored then goals against.im not sure if winner-over-the other rule will be applicable here.

the crazy horse vs. hiroshi game is NOT a championship game by definition but it will be from all other points of vie THE championship game, IF somebody leads the other after 90minutes.if it is going to be tied after regulation then we will have to go thru tiebreakers.a shootout or extra-time is not applicable in league-type format.

unless of course CFA made an ammendment to these rules that we dont know about.

I know about the point system in leagues, so no need to explain to me my friend. ;)

But they need to settle it somehow. I think that MLS in the US, uses extra time and shootout, but im not sure.
If the match between Hiroshi and Crazy H. is tied, even the goal difference, then only thing to do is to either have extra time/shootout or a rematch.

Which team has scored most goals again? I think it was Hiroshi, but they also have more goals against i think, i dont remember, but the goal difference is the same.
