Cebu FA policies

I talked with CebuFA president Jonathan Maximo regarding the sanctions they meted.

On the DBYC coach, (I am still not 100 percent sure if it is David Gerali) since on the day that I saw a DBYC game, it wasn't David who coached the team).

*The DBYC coach may play in the Aboitiz League since it is in his capacity as a coach that he was suspended.

*I am sure there are a lot of pros and cons, one of this is whether he was suspended from football activities, or coaching activities or should suspensions differentiate the two?

*On Glen Ramos suspension.

*Glen may continue to coach in the Age Group, and his supension covers the Aboitiz League since it is the immediate tournament after the Cesafi.

*again a lot of pros..and cons...

Before you comment, let us ask why these sanctions were meted out and why the CebuFA had to do it?

Again i request, i am not asking you to identify yourself..just try to use a nickname or alias..so that when one is rebutting another's comment..we could know who someone is referring to..instead of just anonymouses..and we have to scroll up to which anonymous said that point.

Here's a report by the CebuFA sent to media outlets.

November 11, 2005

The Cebu Football Association (CebuFA) wishes to report the Disciplinary Committee findings following the CebuFA Board meeting on Thursday, 10 th of November to ensure the football community is appropriately informed.

1. The University of Cebu Football Team and their coach received a ban for one tournament for walking out of a game in the recent CESAFI competition. This ban will take effect for the Aboitiz Cup Competition.

2. The Under 15 team of Don Bosco Youth Center were fined P6,000 and their coach banned from CebuFA tournaments for one year. This is due to non-appearance consecutively in two scheduled matches.

3. The University of Visayas team's appeal against not being allowed to enter the Aboitiz Cup competition due to late submission of documentation and entry fees was declined.

The University of Visayas and Don Bosco representatives were informed of the decisions at the Board meeting. Mr. Jonathan Maximo, the CebuFA President, was to have informed the Univeristy of Cebu representative before the time of going to press.

The CebuFA wishes to publicly thank all of those involved in the disciplinary meeting for their honesty, candor and professional demeanor. The CebuFA gave each situation full deliberation and due process. Whilst the CebuFA dislikes having to make tough decisions that seemingly deprive soccer players of games we must support the Philippine Football Federation in their endeavors to bring consistency, fair play and integrity to our sport.

mike, first of all, bravo for this post. at least we now know the full extent of the decision. i feel the sanctions are fair para sa tanan. frankly, i first thought that TOTAL ang ban (no coaching and playing on all levels), but i feel this was a good call on the part of the CFA.

i will give myself a nickname once the CFA programs are posted.

Thanks, I will try to get a copy of the CebuFA programs next time I see Maxi, but I can't promise anything, as there will be the Cebu City Olympics on Nov. 19 and 20 and I will leave for Bacolod on Nov. 22. So, it might be a while before I can post the programs.

But rest assured, I will check and post in this blog regularly.
