THE only positive thing that we can take in that loss against Timor Leste was that the U23 squad looked good in blue. And Ebong, too. The Blue-Haired fanatic whose voice we all heard on TV was fantastic. The team? The result? To be perfectly blunt it was a scrappy game from a scrappy team that seemed to treat the SEAG as a vacation, or a chance to gain more Twitter followers. (Yey, I can tweet the team apology first!) Going into the match, almost every fan who paid attention knew that we needed to win. Unfortunately, it seemed the players were operating on a different mindset.

WILL THIS EVENT HAPPEN in CEBU CITY?
Could you just tell about the tournament and sport and forget the rest ?
That's what I mean ok? So, not only do you get used, you get your name dirty.
A GOOD JOURNALIST has the TASK to LOOK BEHIND and THEN TO DECIDE TO REPORT ABOUT OR NOT..
HOW MANY BAD GOVERNMENTS IN PAST COULD SURVIVE bec. OF SPORT-SUPPORT?
F.ex ARGENTINA under PINOCHET GOVERNMENT!
HE pushed FOOTBALL ( WORLD CUP 1978 ) so that he get a nice opinion in society and in the same way to HIDE HIS MURDER-REGIME by BRUTAL ACTIONS!
SPORT was USED TO DO BAD THINGS..
A GOOD JOURNALIST ( I did work once a time for a famous newspaper ) has the task to discover the lies..
If MIKE don´t like to report about an EVENT which has a doubtful character then I will stay FULL BEHIND HIS MIND!
im pretty sure uv never worked as a reporter so u have no idea what we have to go through with these people.
let me just give u an overview.
1.organizers inform the media about their events.
2.as part of our jobs, mao na mu-cover mi. but id like to make it clear na wa mi nangayo ug anything from these organizers for us to cover their events.
the organizers want their events to be covered by the papers becasue they promised their sponosrs that in exchange for the sponsorship is exposure in the three major newspaper.
just imagine unsa kadako ang ma-save sa mga sponsors na free silag exposure sa media mao na nagpailad sila. pero, part sa expenses na i-hatag sa nag-organize sa event kay ang gasto kunuhay niya sa media, which of course, way maabot namu. diha man sila makatigbas ug daku.
that is why it pisses us off to know that some people are passing around stories na naa mi sa payroll.
3.so, becasue we write their freakin events, they get a lot of exposre and so does the sponsors of their events.
4.then the organizer compile these stoires and pass em to the sponsors to show na naa jud exposure. and together with that, he also passes a liquidation and apil na diha na gibayran ang mga writers kunuhay aron mugawas ang story, which of course, dili tinuod.
we cover sporting events without asking for anything in return. i dont care if mang-racket sila pero ang di lang nako ganahan is gamiton ko aron makakwarta sila.
pila na ka times na naulawan mi. there are some na kuwang nalang sagpaon mig kwarta becasue they think na mao na amo giapas kung mutunga mig presscon, etc.
there is this group in football, pwera gaba lang, religious paman unta, sila nagkalat na naa mi sa payroll sa pila ka organizers. thats kinda sakit for us kay never gyud mi nangayo.
so bisan pa unsa na namu ka-love ang football, di pud namu i-allow amung selves uy na sayun2un lang.
So private organized tournaments will be more fun events. Congratulations to the journalists for their stand.
AND pinakaulaw sa tanan. tennis organizer from davao. in front of all the people watching the games over at the country club tennis courts suddenly pulls out his wallet and literally bangs the money on the table in front of us. for our 'efforts' daw. para taxi daw. unsay tuo niya nako di kaaford taxi?
honestly, lami kaayo lugiton iyang kalimutaw atong tyma.
