Pabol fiesta
GRADUATES of the Milo-PaBol Summer Football Clinic will test their new skills in the 6th Milo-Pabol Football Festival at the Divine Word Seminary today.
“This is the culmination of their month long training,” Cebu Football Association (CebuFA) president Jonathan Maximo said during yesterday’s Scoop forum at Baseline Restaurant.
The kids will play in three divisions and in two side events: the slalom (dribbling) and the juggling contest.
Players in the Under-16 division will collide in five-a-side games with 15- minute halves, the U-12 will have four-a-side matches with 12-minute halves, and the U-7 will have three-a-side games with 10-minute halves.
All divisions will be clustered into the Boys and Girls groups and will have no goalkeepers.
“We notice here in Cebu that some schools do not have a field or football programs, so the Pabol clinic is a chance for them to learn new skills,” Maximo said.
Clinic participants were mostly students from Sacred Heart School-Jesuit, Paref-Southcrest, St. Francis of Assissi, Bright Academy, Cebu Learning Center, Don Bosco Victorias, Springdale, Maria Montessori Children’s House, Mandaue Christian School, St. Benedict Childhood Education Center, Discovery Camp, Sotero Cabahug Forum and Cambridge.
Other participants were from STI Prep School, Xavier School Manila, St. Paul Learning Center, Child Development Center Cebu, Colegio Inmaculada Conception-Mandaue, City Central School Cagayan, ACA Learning Center, St. Arnold School, St. Joseph’s Academy, University of Southern Philippines and San Isidro Parish
