Mad Dogs gone wild

TOUGH ACTION: Action in the San Roque is tough, as this photo by Sun*Star ace lensman Amper Campaña shows.

JOSHUA Fegidero is dangerous, he needs to be marked all the time. Jan Michael Abellana is dangerous, he's a wily player.

Don Bosco Alumni FC failed to heed such lessons as they lost a tough 4-3 semi final match against the Mad Dogs FC in the San Roque Summer Football Tournament last Sunday at the San Roque Parish.

The mad dogs, culled from a selection of young kids at the Cebu International School and veteran San Roque habitues like Eleazar Toledo will next face Hankyu FC, who survived a shoot out win over host San Roque FC.

The transplanted Bacolod player Fegidero struck first in the third minute while Hayato Ayabe doubled the lead in the 10th for an early 2-0 Mad Dogs advantage.

Crio Sarchez pulled DB to within one in the 30th for a 2-1 count at the turn.

Then things turned around for the bosconians.

In a two minute span, Warlo Sabella and Ramie Martin turned the 2-1 deficit to a 3-2 advantage as they struck in the 65th and 67th minute while holding their ground against the Mad Dogs offense.

They forgot about the guy from Bacolod. With five minutes left in the match, Fegidero found his mark to level the match and Abellana drove in the clincher in the 87th as the shocked Bosconians settled for a loss.

Meanwhile, after a scoreless regulation, Rene Inoc, Ronnie Agulo, Ranulfo Colina, Limar Baunsit and Niño Zapanta converted their spot kicks for Hankyu FC’s win.

They will face off with Mad Dogs in the finals on May 29 still at the San Roque field.
